About Me
Biomedical Informatics · Class of 2028
Hello, I'm Dongting Zhai.
I am an undergraduate student in Biomedical Informatics at the Zhejiang University–University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE), with academic interests at the intersection of biology, medicine, and computation.
Current Experience
I have been involved in research training in the Wanlu Liu Lab, where I participated in liver-related projects involving both single-cell RNA sequencing and Visium HD spatial transcriptomics. My work has included data preprocessing, quality control, clustering, cell type annotation, differential analysis, and the study of fibrosis-related cell populations and spatial interactions.
I also participated in the 2025 iGEM competition as a member of the iZJU-China Dry Lab / Modeling Team. In this project, I contributed to the design and evaluation of a DNA origami platform using cadnano, oxView, and oxDNA, while also assisting with modeling tasks related to diffusion, degradation, and membrane penetration behavior.
Beyond the Lab
In addition to research, I value careful communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous learning. Outside academics, I enjoy playing the pipa, exploring basic guitar skills, watching musicals, and reading novels. I believe these interests help me maintain both curiosity and balance in long-term academic work.
